TURTLES

The turtles live day after day,

Running along well-worn paths,

But they have no time to crawl to their dreams,

And no need to reach for the stars.

Beady eyes, clawed paws:

The turtles know how to live and sleep.

They run, communicate, love to chat,

Cute little animals, crawling about busy.

Their reliable shells are a stronghold for their heads,

The owners decide everything, all we need is food!

Sweet candies, warm sand,

A house, grass, a mate – life rushes on!

So their days pass, amidst a series of worries,

No time, right? To think with their heads.

And why should they think? Reluctance, laziness,

The shell suddenly wrinkles, the tail darkens.

Glass eyes, a brand-new smartphone,

Year after year they scroll – memes and movies.

To work in the morning – home in the evening.

Mortgage. Money. Eat, darling!

Indifferent thoughts, discord in our heads!

The owners will decide everything – all we need is food!

Strong drinks, warm sand,

A house, a vacation, a lady. Life flies forward!

So our life passes, a flurry of tasks.

There's no time, really – to live the way you wanted!

And why should we think? Reluctance, laziness!

And already oblivion, closer than the Limit!

...and they have no time to crawl to their dreams,

...and there's no need to reach the stars.
